Veganism is morally bankrupt because it tries to mandate a lifestyle which is only available to the rich and then accuses the poor of “speciesism” for refusing to starve to death.
Even here in Portland — and this is one of the most vegan-friendly cities in the entire country — it is flatly…
If you can’t afford rice and beans you can’t afford meat either. Though most people (myself included) can’t afford crazy faux-meats or to eat at pretentious vegan restaurants all the time, veganism for the poor (once again, myself included) consists of beans, rice, potatoes, greens, peanut butter, pasta, bread, etc etc which can all be found at your local save-a-lot, price-rite, aldi, or any other low-budget food shop. This doesn’t even take into consideration the amount of plant-based food that can be reaped through dumpstering or shoplifting (which before someone gets all uppity, stealing avocados from Wal-Mart is certainly not at all as bad as perpetuating a system of mass-murder for those too picky and privileged to be content with eating less cruel foods).
That awkward moment when the white dipshit (who thinks he can throw around the word “uppity”) forgets that vegan isn’t just no meat but no animal products. Animal products like gelatin which is added to a ridiculous number of ultra cheap, ultra processed foods without even a trace of meat in them.

That completely unsurprising moment when a racist white cis not visibly disabled douchefuck vegan suggests dumpster diving and shoplifting forgetting that trans, visibly disabled, mentally ill folks and POC all have elevated risks of arrest and police brutality (and lethal police brutality and massively amped up chance of arrest for Black POC), and that those things often get cop attention.
Even dumpster diving (which isn’t technically illegal everywhere)
Keep pretending, tho, ugly.
Lol. Except no. Vegetables, nuts, grains and especially beans are some of the cheapest foods out there. Take a look at...
