Police charged man with murder in stabbing of transgender woman at DC bus stop

WASHINGTON — Metropolitan Police have charged a D.C. man with second-degree murder while armed in the stabbing of a transgender woman.

The victim, 23-year-old JaParker Jones of Washington, was stabbed at a bus stop in northeast on Feb. 2. She died the next day.

On Friday, police arrested 55-year-old Gary Niles Montgomery and charged him with the crime.

Police say the motive for the attack is not clear and it appears that Jones and Montgomery were strangers.

If he’s a stranger I’d say the motive is pretty fucking clear
